Welcome to Theme Park Princess. I’m pretty bad at describing myself, but let’s give it a go:

I am 24 years old and graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University (go Eagles!) in May 2015 with my BA in journalism.

As you’ve probably guessed, I am a huge theme park fan. I am currently a Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando annual pass holder. I get the best of both worlds and I love it!

I have completed two college programs with Disney, in merchandise and attractions, and I am the former Social Media and Character Strategy Intern where I worked with the Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Creative Entertainment team. I’m not going to lie: it was pretty awesome.

This blog serves as a place for me to not only share my love of theme parks and bond with people who feel the same way, but also as a way to connect with others who have participated in/would like to participate in the DCP. I credit much of my success to the completion of my two college programs and professional internship, so I love being able to help those who would like to apply for an opportunity with Disney.

Have a magical day and thank you for stopping by ❤

  1. Aaahhhh! This post brings back so many memories for me. I did the CP in 2000-2001 and ended up staying and working for Disney for awhile there after. You’re right, it’s an amazing experience. I continue to visit WDW annually with my family and always meet up with old friends 🙂

  2. What about after the Disney program is close to ending and you want to work there Full time! what happens? Do you have to find an apartment?

      1. I am also going to be in merchandising! Did you enjoy it, and do you have any tips that you’d give someone who is going into the same role?

      2. I did enjoy it, but it was a lot of long nights! It will all depend on your location, but more likely than not you will work nights/closing shifts, so just go in knowing that!

  3. Hi Monet! I just got my acceptance to the DCP today and I am BEYOND excited. I also got accepted to merchandising, so I have a feeling that your blog is gonna become frequent reading material for me over the next few months. 🙂

    1. Hi there!
That’s so exciting! Congratulations! I’ll be returning this fall as well, so I look forward to possibly meeting you! Please feel free to peruse my blog and if you have anymore questions, please don’t hesitate to ask me! Congratulations again, darling!

  4. Hi Monet! My name is Cassidy and I am a sophomore in high school in Pennsylvania. I have been in love with Disney my whole life and am very interested in the College Program! I am hoping to be a business major but have a love for music and theatre. After recently reading your article I have been inspired to possibly follow the same path you have chosen through the Disney program! I was hoping you could give me advice about the best way to get into the program and what things I should be doing now.

    1. Unfortunately, since you’re a sophomore in high school there isn’t anything you can do right now in terms of preparing for the college program. You won’t be able to apply until after your first semester in college. The best way to get into the program is to be yourself and do research on every role available and making yourself familiar with the process.

  5. Hi, so, I have a couple questions about the DCP! I am a high school student, and I really want to do this program when I’m in college! When is the best time to do the DCP, and even if my major doesn’t have anything to do with Disney, could I still do the program?(I’m not sure what I want to major in yet, but I may want to be a nurse)

    1. There really is no ‘best time.’ It all depends on when you can fit it into your schedule, whether it means taking a semester off or taking online courses. You can’t do it your first semester, though. You must complete one full semester of college before you can do the program. And all majors are welcome to apply.
